Jonathan Rigby, BA CIM FCSI

Jonathan joined ScotiaMcLeod in 1995 and since then his clients have entrusted him to manage in excess of $250 million in assets. He is an alumni of Wifrid Laurier University and is a member of ScotiaMcLeod's President's Council which is reserved for top performers within the firm.

Jonathan specializes in Portfolio Risk Management. He uses an extensive number of tools to measure risk, manage risk, and diversify funds with a highly disciplined approach. His approach is logical, organized, and has a built-in defensive game plan. Clients' portfolios are prepared for uncertain times in the market as well as expansionary times.

Together with our team of experts across the Scotiabank group, he helps his clients achieve peace of mind through ongoing trusted advice and personalized solutions.

As an Associate Portfolio Manager Jonathan is able to offer his clients discretionary investment management.

Jonathan is married with three children and in his spare time enjoys playing hockey, golf and reading.

Kristen has been with Scotiabank Group since 1988, the last 12 years with ScotiaMcLeod.  Kris is a graduate of Brock University and holds a Bachelor of Business Economics Degree.   She has also achieved the Certified Investment Manager, Certified Financial Planner, Financial Management Advisor and Elder Planning Councillor Designations.  Kris is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute and recently achieved the Chartered Professional (Ch.P.) Strategic Wealth designation.

Kristen has devoted her career to helping clients manage their wealth through a disciplined investment process with a strong emphasis on financial, tax and estate planning.

Kris enjoys spending time with her husband and two children as well as reading, travelling and volunteering.


Val Hiller, BA
Investment Associate

Val joined ScotiaMcLeod in 1993 and is an alumni of Wilfrid Laurier University.  Her focus is on Estate and Lifestyle Planning for individuals.  Val takes the time to meet with clients to develop a financial plan that is focused on each individual's expectations, long-term lifestyle goals thus ensuring realistic outcomes

Away from the office, Val is married with two children and enjoys her garden and has undertaken to improve her golf game, which is still a work in progress.


Trish Hunter
Administrative Associate

Trish joined ScotiaMcLeod in 1997. She assists with the client review process and administration. She prides herself in providing excellent customer service.  She previously worked as a legal assistant for eight years which has proven to be an asset on many levels in her current position.

Also, Trish enjoys spending time with her husband and young children, as well as reading, cycling and cross-country skiing.


 

 

Tasha Godfrey

Administrative Assistant

 Tasha just recently joined our team in 2011, coming to us from another financial institution. She graduated with distinction from the Business Administration - Accounting program at Conestoga College. Following this, she worked for 6 years in various roles in Financial Services.

Tasha is the contact person for clients with questions and concerns such as cheques, deposits and statement inquiries.

At home Tasha enjoys reading (a lot), going to new restaurants and trying new dishes and spending time with her husband and two dogs, a Bernese Mountain dog and a Shih-tzu. They also enjoy camping and fishing together.

Shawn Fischer

Business Development Associate

Shawn is the newest member of our team, having joined us in 2011 from our parent company, Scotiabank. He is a graduate of the University of Guelph where he earned his BBA (Honours) with majors in accounting and finance. He plans on pursuing his Chartered Accountant designation.

Shawn is responsible for various business development duties for the team.

Outside the office, Shawn enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, participating in various sports, watching movies, and getting together with friends.
